Cinderella’s Revenge, by The Tenth Stage
Kitchen maid, and gentle bride
Sweeping ashes, dressed in white,
Cinderella wipes the floors.
Cinderella, locked indoors.

Leaving proof of her old age,
Cinderella, past in grey.
For far too long she’s been engaged!
Cinderella’s final wage.
After 30 years or so,
Nothing much but scraps inside,
Cinderella, like a gem,
Very quickly lost her shine.
The Prince forgotten to ask her,
on the pathway to the throne,
Cinderella lost her slipper- And the sisters knew it all along.

Oh, dear fairy, hear my call!
Take my sisters take them all!
Down a hill, let them roll,
Down a cliff, let them fall!
All my sisters I wish to see
Hanging high, from a tree
Or down a hill, let them roll,
Down a cliff, let them fall!

No more washing dirty dishes,
No more hopeless wishes!
Cinderella, well avenged,
Found you freedom, in the end.
Three sisters she locked away!
Wedding bells welcome her -
Dressing gowns and petticoats;
Limbs and bodies decompose.

The Prince forgotten to ask her,
on the pathway to the throne
Cinderella lost her slipper, and the sisters knew it all along…

“If I can’t return to the ball, with my sisters here I’ll stay. Bound together we will play, wrapped until the end of days.”

Oh, dear fairy, hear my call! Take my sisters, take them all! Down a hill, let them roll, Down a cliff, let them fall! All my sisters I wish to see Hanging high, from a tree Or down a hill, let them roll, Down a cliff, let them fall!

Ding, dong, ding dong.
Hear the toll!
Cinderella, through the ball!
Ding, dong, ding dong.
Hear the toll!
Cinderella, through the ball!
Down a hill, let them roll, Down a cliff, let them fall!
